Birthday Fun

Since my Mom is coming up here next week we decided to wait for her and have Jacob's birthday party when she gets here. So, for Jacob's actually birthday we went to our favorite place for lunch, Chick-fil-A of course. They have the best play area around so both boys have a blast. They have a specific area that is just right for Jacob.

Jacob loved playing on the baby slide.

Tucker had to be where all the action was.

My new favorite picture of Jacob.

After lunch we headed over to our favorite ice cream shop Cold Stone Creamery. Tucker will eat ice cream any time of the year.

From the looks of it so will Jacob!

After the ice cream party we took Jacob to the toy store to pick out something for his birthday and he went right to this. We took it home for him and course Tucker took it away from him and played with it all night. We had a really fun day with the boys and look forward to partying with our friends and family next week.

Happy Birthday Jacob

A year ago today at 2:48 p.m. this little guy was born. I checked into the hospital at 7 a.m. got my epidural around 10:30 starting pushing about 2:20 and he was born at 2:48. For those of you who don't know this or forgot, my sweet dear patient husband talked me into not finding out what we were having when we got pregnant with Jacob. I had always been totally against this and thought people were freaks that didn't find out. I didn't want to be a freak but I went along with it and waited until he was born to find out the sex. It was hard at times but I am so glad I waited. It was such an emotional and fun day. I will never forget looking at Johnny and seeing the excitement and emotion when he said "Its a boy"! At times I thought it was a girl because everything was sooo different than with Tucker but deep down I knew it was a boy. I had packed my bag for the hospital and had a boy and a girl outfit and at the last minute before we walked out the door for the hospital I took out the pink outfit. I just knew that we were having a boy. As much as I would love to have a daughter someday I could not imagine my life right now any different. I love my boys so much and feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Happy Birthday Jacob!!

Nemo On Ice

Saturday night we took the boys to see Nemo On Ice. The show was in DC so we decided to take the Metro instead of driving . This was Tucker and Jacob's first metro ride and boy did they both love it. Tucker was so excited he couldn't stop smiling.

Jacob is trying to push Tucker out of the way so he can sit by the window.

We had to switch trains before we got to the show. Here we are at the Pentagon station. Tucker was very excited to see the train pull up and get us.

We finally made it to the show! We were very surprised to see Mickey and Minnie. They came out to greet all the kids.

Valentine's Party/Date Night

This is Brianna. She was born right after Jacob.

This is Ms. Audrey. She is a cutie!

Here we have Luke, Jacob, MayRay, and Tuckie

Here is Mr. Ty Barrett. He is full of energy!!

Mary Raines enjoyed the company but was fine just reading to herself.

This past Friday Kasey had our play group over for a Valentine's Day party. She made a very yummy breakfast cassorole and garlic grits. Sounds wierd but very very good. We a great meal and the kids really enjoyed playing together. All the Moms were told to bring there kids favorite treat so we brought Valentine chocolate chip cookies. Kasey had bags that the kids got to decorate with there favorite stickers and then they got to pick out all the different treats to put into there bags. We had a really fun day and are so thankful for these days with good friends.

After the party we got home and the boys took a nap while I got ready for date night with my Valentine. A girl from church came over to watch the boys while we went to Ruth's Chris for dinner. The resturant was located in Arlington on the 11th floor of a corporate building. We had a great view of DC and the Reagan airport. It was very romantic!! We had a wonderful time just being together for a couple of hours. The boys did fine without us even little Jacob. Saturday was an even more exciting day but I will save that for later. Have a great Monday. It is 64 degrees here today and we are heading outside.

911 what's your emergency? (again)

Well, its not really an emergency but I've locked my keys and my baby in my car! Ok, I will send out an "officer" to help you. So this is what happened: We were leaving Panera Bread and Johnny decided to take Tucker to the bathroom and I went on out with Jacob. I thought I would go ahead and get Jacob in the car and pick up Johnny and Tucker at the front of Panera. I unlocked the car, threw the keys in the front seat and put Jacob in his seat. I closed the door and walked around to the driver's side door. I tried to open the door and what do you know the door was locked. All the doors were locked!! Um, what just happened? I just unlocked the door and put Jacob in the car and now the doors are locked with my sweet but very attached baby in side all by himself. I just stood there in shock not really sure what to do. I turn around and here comes Johnny with Tucker on his shoulders all ready to start our fun family Friday. Um, Johnny do you have your keys? No, why would I have my set of keys? Um, so if I locked my keys in the car with Jacob you could unlock the door. My first thought was to call Beau and have him run by the house and get the keys and bring them to us but I knew that would take to long so I just said we need to call 911. I don't even want to look in the car at Jacob because I know he is going to be out of control but I have to look and well he is asleep. What?? Ok, good news he is asleep. Back to the 911 call. The nice lady informs us that an "officer" will be out to help us. We stand by the car waiting for the "officer". When she informed us an officer was coming I thought a police officer not the Fairfax County Fire Department. My first thought was please don't be the same fireman that came out to my house at 1 in the morning when my fire alarm would not stop going off. All five fireman get out and it takes them about 5 minutes to get the door opened. Tucker enjoyed seeing the firetruck and Jacob never woke up.

The Great Outdoors

Yesterday we had very strange weather for February. I think the high was around 70. This time last year Mom was getting ready to come up here early because we were going to get a lot of snow and I was afraid I might go into labor and she might not be able to catch a flight. We did get the snow but I did not go into labor early. Anyways yesterday we played outside all day. Jacob needed some good ole fresh air and come to think of it so did me and Tucker. It was such a nice day and the rain didn't even come until late last night. It is cooler today and now they are predicting snow on Sunday. Good things always come to an end!

Playdate

This past weekend Johnny went down to Tampa for a quick trip so we decided to stay here and just chill out. Instead of being bored out of mind on Monday I got together a playdate for all the stay at home moms at church. We have a lot of moms that don't work but Monday wasn't the best day for a lot them so I only had about 5 moms that could come. It was really the perfect amount of moms/babies. We had sandwiches and dip and the kiddos had peanut butter and jelly. The older kids played downstairs in the playroom and the younger kids stayed upstairs and had fun with the walker wagon that Vycki got the boys. It was so nice to spend the day with Christian moms and get to know them better. I am really looking forward to doing this more often. Johnny made it back home safe and sound. Beau on the other hand didn't make it back due to a really bad stomach virus. I just hope we don't all get it.

This is Ashton. He is the newest additon at church.

Jacob is like ok let me take over.

Hang on Ty!

Ok, let me and Tucker show you all how its done.

Sorry Ty I guess you can just play with the beads.

Come on Brooks, you can do it!
